We're the team behind The Capsule Template, a website template system built for established service providers who are good at what they do and need a website that shows it. We built it because we kept seeing capable business owners held back by a website that didn't reflect how good they actually were.
Our problems became your solution
We didn't set out to build a template.
We started out as virtual support professionals. Doing the day to day work inside other people's businesses. Admin, systems, operations, the behind the scenes stuff that keeps things running.
And from that position, we saw something that designers don't usually get to see.
We saw what happened after the website was built.
A client of ours, let's call her B, had paid thousands for a beautifully designed Squarespace site. It looked incredible. But she couldn't edit anything herself.
The designer had used so much custom CSS that even we struggled to make simple changes. Wrong fonts showing up. Buttons the wrong colour. Everything looking right in the editor but displaying wrong on the actual site.
B went back to her designer. Paid thousands more to have new pages built.
Then her offers changed and she was stuck with pages she'd paid for but couldn't update herself.
Designers come in, build something beautiful, and move on. That's their job.
But we were still there. Working inside the business every week.
Watching our clients feel crippled by websites they couldn't touch, couldn't update, couldn't use to actually grow their business.
That's what The Capsule Template came from. Not a desire to build a prettier template.

What we set out to build
We noticed something else too. There was a whole group of business owners that existing templates weren't built for.
Not an obvious group like wellness entrepreneurs or business coaches. But people across all kinds of industries who were excellent at their work, yet didn't feel confident with anything tech or design related.
People who knew they needed a better online presence and were actively trying to get there, but kept hitting the same wall: not knowing what actually needed to be on their site, and not being able to make it look the way they wanted it to.
So we set out to simplify it.
To strip away everything that wasn't necessary and keep only what actually makes a website work.
To distil the process down to something clear enough that you could follow it without a design background, without a tech background, without having to figure out what goes where or why it looks the way it does.
The result is packaged as a template. But what it really is, is a system.
Everything is mapped out for you. What to write, where to put it, how to make it look polished. Not because we're teaching you design, but because we've made design a variable you don't have to manage at all.

Steff has been working with online businesses since 2018, supporting founders across industries as an online business manager and systems specialist. That work meant being inside businesses long enough to see not just how websites looked, but how they actually functioned day to day. The gap between the two is what led to the Capsule Template.
Joseph, Co-founder and Lead Designer
Joseph has been working in design and virtual business support since 2020. His approach has always been the same: if something looks good, there's a reason why. And if there's a reason, it can be explained clearly enough for anyone to follow. That thinking shapes everything about how Capsule Template is built. The goal was never to create something impressive. It was to create something anyone could use.
